Transportation Stakeholders Urged to Adhere to Third-party Auto Insurance

In a bid to enhance road safety and compliance with regulations, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Salman Dogo-Garba, recently convened a meeting with transportation stakeholders to discuss the importance of adhering to third-party auto insurance. The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, aimed to address the ongoing enforcement of third-party motor insurance for vehicles operating on Kano State roads.

During the meeting, Commissioner Dogo-Garba engaged with key industry players, including the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, the Nigeria Association of Road Transport Owners, the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, and the Chairman of Kano Line Motor Park. According to a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, Commissioner Dogo-Garba commended the stakeholders for their cooperation and acknowledged the high level of compliance among motor vehicle owners in the state. He highlighted that more than 85% of vehicle owners had already obtained the necessary third-party motor insurance document since the enforcement began.

“The Kano State Police Command remains committed to upholding the third-party motor insurance requirement, in alignment with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,” SP Haruna emphasized.
